Women's mogul skier Miki Ito practiced on Monday, but opted not to try any aerials on her damaged right knee.

"My performances are improving as I take it one step at a time," said Ito, who put off surgery after suffering ligament damage in her right knee immediately prior to the start of the World Cup season. "I want to work this so I can ski the way I usually do."

Although Ito skied the entire course, which includes two jumps, she did not achieve the goals she set for herself.

"I lacked speed," she said. "I need to take the jumps with both legs (without protecting my right leg).
