Takuma Inoue, the younger brother of four-division world champion Naoya Inoue, will make the first defense of his WBA bantamweight title when he faces Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines on Nov. 15 in Tokyo, organizers said Friday.
Takuma won the WBA title in April after his brother vacated it, along with three other belts, when he moved up to super bantamweight. The older Inoue claimed that division's WBC and WBO crowns by knocking out Stephen Fulton of the United States in July.
"I feel excited," Takuma said of the match against the former IBF super flyweight champion. "I'm definitely better than him in speed, technique and stamina."
In the day's world championship doubleheader at Ryogoku Kokugikan, WBA flyweight champion Artem Dalakian of Ukraine takes on top-ranked Japanese Seigo Yuri Akui, who will get his first shot at a world title.
