Japan opened the doors of Stade Ernest Wallon to the rugby-mad Toulouse public on Thursday as it held its final training session before Jamie Joseph announces the team that will take on Chile in the Brave Blossoms' Rugby World Cup opener on the weekend.

While the backs ran through some drills that delighted a crowd of about 1,500 — whose hometown heroes are the purveyors of champagne rugby — there was no doubt about the focus for Sunday's game.

The post-training news conference featured scrum coach Shin Hasegawa and props Asaeli Ai Valu and Craig Millar, and, not surprisingly, the talk was all about the set piece.
