Hiroto Takahashi allowed two runs, none earned, over 6⅔ innings to pick up the win as the Central League's Chunichi Dragons completed this year's interleague session with a 5-2 victory over the Pacific League's Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.

At Sendai's Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi, the Eagles became the first PL team to score off Takahashi (3-6) this season. The right-hander scattered five hits and four walks but held Rakuten scoreless until he made one of two run-scoring errors in the seventh.

Chunichi opened the scoring in the first when Yohei Oshima doubled and scored on a Yuki Okabayashi single. Oshima singled in a run in the Dragons' two-run second, and Seiya Hosokawa's ninth home run made it 4-0 in the third.

The 20-year-old Takahashi, who pitched for Japan in March's World Baseball Classic, went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA over 22⅔ innings in three interleague starts.

Kota Ishibashi, a 22-year-old backup catcher in his fifth pro season, gave Takahashi all the credit.

"Although I'm senior to him within the team, Takahashi was the one who carried me, dictating how we'd go after hitters," he said.

The PL, which has largely dominated interleague play since it began in 2005, finished this year's competition with 54 wins, 52 losses and two ties. The CL's DeNA BayStars clinched the interleague championship Tuesday.

League play resumes in both leagues on Friday.
