Yokohama F Marinos will be missing the J. League's top scorer for three months after Brazilian forward Edigar Junio underwent surgery in Sao Paolo, the first-division club said Sunday.

Edigar Junio, who has 11 goals in 16 games, suffered a "joint fracture" in his left leg on July 20 in Marinos' game against Vissel Kobe.

Marinos are currently second in the league with 39 points from 20 games, three behind leaders FC Tokyo, and one ahead of two-time defending champions Kawasaki Frontale, who have played 19 games.
