Real Betis have acquired Japan international Takashi Inui on a three-year contract, the Spanish team announced Friday on its website.

The announcement comes a day after the 29-year-old attacking midfielder was named to Japan's 23-man squad for this month's World Cup finals in Russia.

Inui left the J. League's Cerezo Osaka in 2011 to play for German Bundesliga second-division side Bochum. The following year, he moved to first-division club Eintracht Frankfurt and in 2015 moved to Spain to play for Eibar.

In 94 games for Eibar, Inui scored 11 goals, five this past season. He has been capped 25 times for Japan and has two goals.
