Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Makoto Hasebe, who has been sidelined with pain in his right knee, made his full return to training, the German first-division club said on its official website Tuesday.

Hasebe missed his club's game against Stuttgart on Sept. 30 after playing the full 90 minutes in the three prior games, and the 33-year-old Japan captain declined to play in the national team's recent friendlies against New Zealand and Haiti.

According to his club, Hasebe, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in March, was one of 18 players who took part in a two-hour training session that attracted approximately 200 spectators.

He is expected to make his comeback on Saturday when Eintracht travels to play Hannover at HDI Arena as the Bundesliga returns from the international break.
