Taro Daniel and Yuichi Sugita will both compete in the men's singles at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics after being added as new entries, the Japan Tennis Association said on Saturday.

Daniel and Sugita have secured berths following the withdrawal of players, including Swiss superstar Roger Federer. They join compatriot and world No. 6 Kei Nishikori in the men's draw.

Daniel and Sugita will both be making their Olympic debut in Rio.

A total of 64 players are entered in the men's and women's singles competitions in Rio, 32 pairs in the doubles and 16 in the mixed doubles.

The additions of Daniel and Sugita bring the total number of Japanese athletes at the Rio Olympics to 337.
