Japan drew Ukraine as its September opponent on Tuesday, when the Davis Cup World Group Playoff draw was held in London.
Japan, which lost its first-round World Group tie against Britain in March, will host the playoff at Osaka's Utsubo Tennis Center from Sept. 16-18. The winner will compete in next year's World Group.
