Japan captain Makoto Hasebe will take his time to decide his new club after helping Eintracht Frankfurt retain its top-flight status in the German Bundesliga.

"The contract will expire and there are many possibilities," Hasebe said at Narita airport on Wednesday. "I'll sort things properly before taking a little bit of time to decide."

Frankfurt, which finished the season third from bottom in the German top flight, defeated Hasebe's former employer and third-ranked second-division side Nuremberg 1-0 away on Monday in the second-leg of the relegation-promotion playoffs, securing a 2-1 aggregate win.

Hasebe played in 32 matches this term but settled for a single goal and two assists, and the 32-year-old vowed to contribute in more areas for the national team.

"It was good to stay up, but I've always been told to be involved with goals while I'm with Japan, so I'm not satisfied," Hasebe said.
