Sunwolves coach Mark Hammett has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes in the wake of his side being on the receiving end of the second biggest defeat in Super Rugby history last weekend.

Five days after being beaten 92-17 by the Cheetahs, Hammett on Thursday named his starting XV for Saturday's match against the Jaguares, and it shows just three changes and two positional switches to the side that took the field in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Shinnosuke Kakinaga and Takuma Asahara swap roles, with the former starting at tighthead prop and the latter on the bench.

Yoshiya Hosoda comes in at blindside flanker replacing the injured Argentine Tomas Leonardi, who misses out on a chance to face his countrymen, while Atsushi Hiwasa is back at scrumhalf in place of Yuki Yatomi.

The two positional switches see Derek Carpenter and Harumichi Tatekawa swap roles in midfield with Carpenter starting at outside center and Tatekawa in the No. 12 jersey.

The one other change on the bench sees Taiyo Ando brought in as the back-row replacement.

The Sunwolves are currently bottom of South African Conference 1, having lost all seven games to date. The Jaguares, meanwhile, are third (of four) in South African Conference 2 with one win from seven games.

Saturday's game kicks off at Tokyo's Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground at 2:15 p.m.
