World No. 6 Kei Nishikori will face Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert in his opening match at the Miami Open.

Nishikori, the sixth seed, has a first-round bye and is scheduled to meet 107th-ranked Herbert in the second round on Saturday. Herbert advanced with a 7-5, 6-4 first-round win on Thursday against Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic.

Tatsuma Ito defeated Frenchman Nicolas Mahut 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 to book his place in the second round.
