Japan's World Cup star Ayumu Goromaru is set to make his first Super Rugby start for the Queensland Reds against the Western Force at Suncorp Stadium as coach Richard Graham announced his 23-man squad on Thursday.

Karmichael Hunt has been switched to inside center for Saturday's game, ensuring Goromaru, who came off the bench to score five points in his Super Rugby debut last week, will make his starting debut, according to reports.

Graham said Goromaru has settled in well to the Reds camp.

"He arrived a bit late in the piece and had played a lot of rugby both at the (World Cup) and for his club in Japan," Graham said of Goromaru.

"It was just a matter of him settling in and I think he has done that pretty well," he was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press.

"His understanding of the game is excellent, defensively he is very good and he kicks the ball exceptionally good — he adds a very good package."
