Japan No. 8 Amanaki Lelei Mafi started for Bath in his home debut for the English Premiership side on Saturday and scored a valuable late try.
Bath lost 24-18 to Wasps, with Mafi's 80th-minute try at the Recreation Ground pulling the home side to within six points and earning it a bonus point.
The team sits ninth in the 12-team Premiership table with 23 points from 12 games, while Wasps moved up to third with 37 points from 13 games.
