Misaki Doi will have a shot at her second WTA title on Sunday, when she faces top seed and former world No. 1 Venus Williams in the Taiwan Open final.

Doi, the second seed at the Yang-Ming Tennis Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, beat the sixth seed, Taiwan's Hsieh Su-wei, 6-0, 6-2 in their 54-minute semifinal on Saturday. Williams defeated third-seeded Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-3.

"What a tough opponent today," Williams said. "She has so much energy. It was very difficult to win, but I'm very glad to be in the final tomorrow."

The final will be the first time for Williams to play the left-handed Doi, who is ranked 61st in the world.
