Kei Nishikori said Saturday he feels he'll be ready for the first round of play at Wimbledon but only time will tell if his left calf is completely healthy.

Nishikori retired in his Gerry Weber Open semifinal against Andreas Seppi with the calf problem on June 20 in Halle, Germany, and said he expects to be ready for Wimbledon.

"There was some thought I might not be able to participate here, but a few days after the injury, I felt it would heal, so I hope I can build some confidence ahead of the competition and then play like normal," he told reporters.
