The Kyoto Hannaryz turned a close game into a rout in the second quarter.

They outscored the Tokyo Cinq Reves 35-9 in the period en route to a 98-60 victory on Friday in the bj-league series opener.

Tokyo (5-44) suffered its 15th straight loss. Western Conference-leading Kyoto improved to 41-8.

The Cinq Reves, who trailed 78-41 entering the fourth quarter, had 19 turnovers; the Hannaryz finished with eight in Akiruno.

Kevin Kotzur paced Kyoto with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Ryan Forehan-Kelly scored 16 points. David Palmer and Reggie Warren had 11 points apiece and Sunao Murakami and Takuya Komoda both scored 10, while Hikaru Kusaka added nine.

Kyosuke Setoyama, Warren and Murakami shared the team lead with four assists apiece. Murakami made a team-high three steals.

For Tokyo, Zane Knowles was the top scorer with 16 points, Yuji Ide chipped in with 14 and Yuta Kurihara had eight points. Big man Will Foster finished with seven points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.
