The Japanese organizing committee for the 2019 Rugby World Cup said Wednesday the host cities for the tournament will be announced on March 2.

Rugby World Cup Ltd., which operates the tournament, will hold an executive board meeting in Dublin, Ireland, the same day. World Rugby Chairman Bernard Lapasset and organizing committee chief executive Akira Shimazu will hold a press conference following the meeting.

From 10 to 12 host cities will be chosen from the 15 candidature cities. The organizing committee concluded joint inspections with RWCL of potential hosts in January.

The curtain-raiser and final of the tournament are expected to be held at a newly built National Stadium in Tokyo, which is scheduled to be completed in 2019.
