Japan face Iraq in their first serious test at the Asian Cup in Group D on Friday and Shinji Kagawa is feeling the heat in more ways than one.

Kagawa reckons the high humidity in Brisbane could be the defending champions' toughest opponent, and the Dortmund midfielder has also admitted to feeling under pressure to score his first goal under Mexican coach Javier Aguirre.

"The humidity levels are right up there and it is different (to how it was in Newcastle, where Japan played Palestine on Monday)," Kagawa told Kyodo News on Wednesday, after Japan trained in steamy conditions of over 80 percent humidity.
