The Niigata Albirex BB snapped a six-game losing streak on Saturday, beating the visiting Shimane Susanoo Magic 76-71.
Combo guard Russell Carter scored a team-high 16 points, Kimitake Sato added 13 and Shuhei Komatsu, Patrick Sullivan and Yuichi Ikeda all had 12 apiece for Niigata (9-8), which led 46-31 at halftime in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture.
Bingo Morriex paced Shimane (1-16) with 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Isiah Brown had 15 points and nine boards.
Joe Chapman and Satoshi Kawai both scored 14 points for the Magic.
Big Bulls 84, Five Arrows 65
In Miyako, Iwate Prefecture, Scootie Randall had a game-best 24 points on 11-for-17 shooting and Lawrence "Trend" Blackledge chipped in with 18 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and three steals as the Big Bulls rolled to their 15th straight victory.
Iwate (16-1 overall, 7-0 at home) held Takamatsu to less than 20 points — 13, 16, 16 in succession — in each of the final three quarters.
The Big Bulls led 22-20 entering the second stanza.
Tsubasa Yonamine scored 11 points for Iwate, while Wayne Arnold and Hayato Kantake each had seven.
The hosts made 32 of 61 shots (52.5 percent) from inside the arc.
B.J. Puckett paced the Five Arrows (7-10) with 15 points, Dexter Lyons scored 14 and Andrais Thornton added 10 with 10 rebounds. Koki Yabuuchi had an eight-point effort.
Hannaryz 84, Brave Warriors 73
In Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Kevin Kotzur's 23-point, 12-rebound, five-assist effort sparked Kyoto to a series-opening win over Shinshu.
David Palmer had 16 points for the Western Conference-leading Hannaryz (15-2). Ryan Forehan-Kelly added nine points, guard/forward Shingo Utsumi had eight and Reggie Warren seven. Kysouke Setoyama dished out six assists.
Mohamed Abukar was the Brave Warriors' top scorer with 16 points. Takato Saito had 13 points and Patrick Sanders scored 11 for Shinshu (5-8).
Grouses 72, HeatDevils 47
In Toyama, frontcourt mates Sam Willard and Joe Werner both notched double-doubles and the Grouses held Oita to 20-for-72 shooting on the night.
Willard finished with 16 points and 17 boards and Werner scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds with a team-high four steals for good measure.
Tatsunori Fujie and Daichi Tanaka both put 12 points on the board for Toyama (13-4). Takeshi Mito added eight points.
Toyama out-rebounded Oita 58-41.
Drew Barham scored 12 points for the HeatDevils (6-9) and Kazuya "J." Hatano had 11.
Bambitous 91, B-Corsairs 75
In Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Chehales Tapscott scored 20 points and Tatsuya Suzuki contributed 12 points and 11 assists to lead Nara past Yokohama.
Andre Murray poured in 16 points for the Bambitious (4-9), Michael St. John had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Ryo Inagaki also provided 12 points in the win.
Oral Roberts alum Warren Niles scored a season-high 43 points, including seven 3-pointers, for the B-Corsairs (4-13), who didn't use any other foreign players in the game. Dzaflo Larkai and Wayne Marshall are both sidelined with injuries.
Kenji Yamada had 15 points and five steals for Yokohama.
Firebonds 104, Broncos 78
In Sukagawa, Fukushima Prefecture, Masaya Karimata and Verdell Jones III ran the offense with precision in a blowout victory over winless Saitama.
Jones scored a game-high 26 points and handed out seven assists. Karimata finished with 16 points and 11 helpers.
Terrance Shannon added 18 points and converted 9 of 12 shots for Fukushima (5-12), James Hughes had 16 points and Edward Morris pumped in 13 on a 5-for-5 shooting night. All told, the expansion Firebonds shot 71.4 percent (35-for-49) from inside the arc.
Gary Johnson paced Saitama (0-13) with 20 points and Ari Stewart scored 19.
Northern Happinets 84, Crane Thunders 75
In Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture, Shigehiro Taguchi sank all eight of his free-throw attempts — the same number his opponent made on Saturday — en route to a 21-point performance.
Richard Roby supplied 16 points and six steals, Deshawn Stephens scored 14 points, Tyran Carter had 11 with four blocks and Yuto Otsuka also reached double digits with 10 points. Akitomo Takeno dished out seven assists for Akita (13-4).
Trailing 29-13 after one quarter, Gunma (2-13) outscored the visitors 31-15 over the next 10 minutes to tie it at 44-44 going into halftime.
Marcus Morrison led the Crane Thunders with 16 points and Yusuke Kodera and Carlos Dixon both had 12, the latter also had nine rebounds and eight assists. Former NBA big man Melvin Ely scored 11 points, pulled down five rebounds and blocked two shots.
Golden Kings 76, Evessa 60
In Osaka, League legend Anthony McHenry ignited the Ryukyu offense with 21 points and eight assists as the visitors routed the Evessa.
The Golden Kings (13-2) extended their winning streak to seven games.
Draelon Burns rang up 13 points and four assists off the bench and Ryuichi Kishimoto had 10 points. Shigeyuki Kinjo added nine points and Kibwe Trim contributed eight points and 13 boards.
For Osaka (11-6), Josh Dollard was the high scorer (15 points) and shared the team lead in rebounds (10) with Gary Hamilton, who scored eight points.
Naoto Nakamura and Shota Konno had 12 and 11 points, respectively, and Seth Tarver finished with 10.
The Evessa were held to 25 first-half points and faced a 36-25 deficit entering the third quarter.
89ers 86, Rizing 73
In Tagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Kejuan Johnson and Wendell White combined for 44 points to steer Sendai past the Rizing.
Johnson led all scorers with 24 points, including 10-for-14 at the charity stripe. The Long Beach State product raked in 16 rebounds and doled out five assists.
White scored 20 points for the 89ers (11-6), who collected 20 offensive rebounds. Adrian Moss contributed 15 points and 10 boards with three steals. Manato Kikuchi scored eight points.
For Fukuoka (4-13), Josh Peppers had 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Rintaro Tokunaga added 12 points.
Wat's 93, Lakestars 86
In Yasu, Shiga Prefecture, Paul Williams' team-high 26 points and Kenichi Takahashi's 24 keyed a hard-fought victory over the Lakestars.
Damian Saunders added 18 points and four steals and Gyno Pomare had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wat's (10-7).
Terrance Woodbury paced Shiga (10-3) with 29 points and Chris Holm had 15 and Ray Nixon scored 12.
The Happinets corralled 51 rebounds and held the hosts to 39.
Phoenix 93, Cinq Reves 64
In Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture, Hamamatsu Higashimikawa erupted for 37 fourth-quarter points and pounded struggling Tokyo.
Olu Ashaolu, one of the league's top newcomers this season, had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Phoenix (12-3) and Nile Murry scored 12 points.
Eleven Hamamatsu players scored in the rout.
Jemal Farmer paced the Cinq Reves (4-13) with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Hart and Will Foster added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
