Aiko Uemura put the disappointment of missing out on a Vancouver Olympic medal behind her Sunday by capturing her first World Cup title of the season in the women's moguls at a weather-shortened meet.
Uemura, fourth last month in Vancouver, scored 23.00 points to clinch victory in the eighth leg of the World Cup series at Listel Park.
The win was Uemura's first on the World Cup circuit since February last year and 10th overall.
"The event that I wanted to win was the Olympics so it was touch and go whether I was going to compete in this event," said Uemura.
"In this condition I was able to ski well. Now all I am thinking about is having a break," added the 30-year-old.
Olympic silver medalist Jennifer Heil of Canada (22.73) placed second and American Shannon Bahrke (22.20), who took bronze in Vancouver, was third in the event shortened to a single run because of inclement weather.
Vancouver champion Hannah Kearney of the United States did not take part in the meet.
Elsewhere for Japan, Miki Ito was seventh, Arisa Murata was 13th, and Tae Satoya was 22nd.
Saturday's moguls event was postponed due to thick fog and moved to Sunday, only to be canceled, also because of fog.
The schedule change forced the cancellation of the dual moguls competition initially slated for Sunday. The men's moguls event was also canceled.
