OSAKA (Kyodo) Women's WBA minimumweight champion Etsuko Tada and WBC light flyweight champion Naomi Togashi retained their respective titles on Sunday after their 10-rounder in Osaka finished in a draw.

Japanese judge Takeo Harada scored the bout in 97-94 in favor of Tada while Silvestre Abainza of the Philippines ruled it 96-94 for Togashi. Rey Danseco, also from the Philippines, had it even at 95-95.

It was the first world title fight in Japan between world champions belonging to separate weight classes. The winner would have claimed titles in both weight categories.

Tada holds a record of six wins, including two knockouts, and one draw. Togashi has five wins (three KOs) and a draw.
