Yoshitaka Isomura hit a three-run homer, Shota Dobayashi threw a complete game and helped himself with a pair of RBI doubles and Chukyodai Chukyo beat Miyakonojo Shogyo 6-2 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the National High School Baseball Championship.

Earlier in the day at Koshien Stadium, Tomohiro Yamada pitched a complete game and helped his own cause with a go-ahead single, leading Gifu Shogyo to a 6-3 victory over Teikyo.

Chukyo of Aichi Prefecture jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Isomura homered to left with two on and two outs.

Dobayashi held Miyazaki's Miyakonojo to five hits, striking out nine and walking one. At the plate, the right-hander went 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Gifu Shogyo turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring error and Yamada's RBI single. Takahiro Yokoyama doubled in two runs in a four-run third that made it 6-1.

Yamada gave up 12 hits but limited the Tokyo school to three runs.

In Sunday's semifinals, Gifu Shogyo will take on Niigata's Nihon Bunri, followed by Chukyodai Chukyo against Hanamaki Higashi of Iwate.
