Teen phenom Ryo Ishikawa has been given the chance to test himself on golf's toughest circuit at the Transitions Championship in Florida in March, it was learned Wednesday.

Ishikawa, who helped Asia beat Europe to win the Royal Trophy for the first time earlier this month, is set to make his first appearance on the U.S. PGA Tour as a sponsor's exemption at the March 19-22 event at Innisbrook Resort.

The 17-year-old, currently ranked 60th in the world, has said he wants to play on the PGA Tour until the Japanese season begins in April and may even get the opportunity to play at the Accenture Match Play Championship in late February.

According to U.S. tour sources, Ishikawa is also likely to be given a sponsor's exemption for the Feb. 19-22 Northern Trust Open in California.
