Third favorite Tall Poppy claimed the title of the best 2-year-old filly in Japanese horse racing on Sunday after producing a devastating late burst to win the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. Top pick Odile had edged in front coming round the final bend but Tall Poppy picked her moment and came storming down the outside in the home stretch to beat Reve d'Amour by a neck at Hanshin Racecourse. Tall Poppy won the mile race in a time of 1 minute, 33.8 seconds and earned 60 million yen in prize money. Aim at Vip followed Reve d'Amour in third place while Odile settled for fourth.
