FRANKFURT (Kyodo) Japanese midfielder Junichi Inamoto has signed a two-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt, the German first-division club said on Tuesday.

The move, which comes just 24 hours after Inamoto decided to quit Turkish giants Galatasaray, will see him join up with compatriot Naohiro Takahara at the Bundesliga outfit. Inamoto's Istanbul exit followed a decision by Galatasaray not to exercise the option to retain the two-time World Cup midfielder after a one-year contract due to end in September.

Inamoto signed with Galatasaray after failing to secure a regular place in the lineup in his third year with English club West Bromwich Albion, who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2005-2006 season.

The 27-year-old scored two superb goals to help Japan reach the second round of the 2002 World Cup.
