Kawasaki Frontale on Thursday announced the acquisition of goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima from J. League first-division rival Nagoya Grampus Eight.

The 23-year-old Kawashima, who has represented Japan at youth level, joined Nagoya from Omiya Ardija in 2004 but has been understudy to former Japan goalkeeper Seigo Narazaki for most of his time at the club, making a total of 36 league and cup appearances.

Kawasaki also said it has signed midfielder Takahiro Kawamura on a loan deal through the end of January 2008 from relegated Cerezo Osaka.
