Olympic champion Brazil came from two sets down to hold off China, and the United States beat host Japan in four sets Wednesday at the World Grand Champions Cup in men's volleyball.

Andre Nascimento, who scored a game-high 24 points, led the rally as Brazil was made to work hard after losing the first two sets to wild-card entry China en route to a 23-25, 26-28, 25-11, 25-18, 15-10 victory at Nagano White Ring.

Brazil won their second straight game following its opening-day victory over the United States while China dropped to 0-2.

The Americans allowed Asian champion Japan to take the second set but pulled away for a 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23 win to even out their record at 1-1. Japan, which had beat Egypt on Tuesday, is also at 1-1.

European champion Italy matched Brazil with a 2-0 start to the six-team tournament after a 25-20, 25-18, 25-19 rout over winless Egypt.
