Former Olympic boxing bronze medalist Eiji Morioka died Tuesday morning of esophagus cancer at a hospital in Hyogo Prefecture, boxing officials said Wednesday.
He was 58. The Osaka-born Morioka won the bantamweight bronze medal at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico although he never managed to win any titles as a pro boxer in Japan.
