LONDON (Kyodo) Japan World Cup midfielder Kazuyuki Toda has delayed his return to J. League club Shimizu-S Pulse until the end of this month in a bid find a new employer abroad.

The tough-tackling 26-year-old, who was set to return to Japan on Friday, joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan last season but failed to make an impact and was told by the north London club he would not be offered a new deal when his current one expires this month.

According to sources close to the player, no concrete offers have come in for him although he has apparently generated interest from a number of clubs.
