CHIBA -- Errors don't win ball games and Chiba Lotte manager Koji Yamamoto was quite blunt about it. "I don't get how we can commit three errors in four innings," said Yamamoto, whose team handed three runs on those errors to the Seibu Lions in a 4-2 loss Wednesday night in front of 31,000 at Chiba Marine Stadium.

"It's the very basics," Yamamoto said. "Without the basics, there's no way we can beat the team running ahead of everybody else."

A throwing error by Marines starter Nate Minchey (8-12) in the first scored the first run and Seibu Lions' Taisei Takagi blasted Minchey's mislocated slider into right field to score the winning run.
