YOKOHAMA -- Kevin Hodges gave an early All-Star performance Tuesday night as the Yakult Swallows beat the Yokohama BayStars 6-1 at Yokohama Stadium.
Hodges, who last week was picked to round out the Central League All-Star squad, struck out four and scattered two hits and one unearned run in five innings to pick up his 11th win of the season.
Yakult catcher Atsuya Furuta, who will be appearing in the July 12-13 All-Star series with Hodges, gave the Swallows all the runs they would need with a two-run homer in the second inning.
