Two media polls show Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and her team are off to a strong start following the formation of her Cabinet, especially among younger generations and those in the Osaka and Nagoya regions.
In a Yomiuri Shimbun poll conducted Tuesday and Wednesday, 80% of respondents age 18 to 39 said they supported the Takaichi Cabinet, up from a 15% support rate among the same age range for Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s Cabinet last month.
Takaichi’s Cabinet also had a 75% support rate among those age 40 to 59, up from the 29% that supported Ishiba in September, according to the Yomiuri poll.
