The Environment Ministry plans to launch a survey in fiscal 2024 on how manufacturers recycle plastics and metals contained in industrial waste, sources have said.
The move is part of the ministry's efforts to promote so-called closed-loop recycling, in which recycled materials are used to make the same types of products.
Cooperation with industrial waste disposal companies is indispensable for manufacturers to obtain recycled materials.
