When popular South Korean performer DJ Soda posted on social media that she was groped by audience members at a music festival in Osaka Prefecture earlier this week, it sparked a public conversation about the prevalence of groping in Japan.

DJ Soda posted on Instagram to her 5 million-plus followers that several people grabbed her breasts when she was interacting with her fans in the crowd, and that she had “never ever experienced anything like this in my 10 years as a DJ.”

The event organizer vowed to identify and take legal action against the perpetrators.
