Japan's Children and Families Agency hopes to encourage child consultation center employees to obtain a new certification being created in order to tackle child abuse, according to sources.

The new certification is expected to launch in April 2024 in response to an increase in child abuse consultation requests.

Over 100 hours of training are required for the certification, so the agency plans to subsidize the costs for child consultation centers to employ temporary workers who will cover for staff while they attend the training course.
