Popular Kabuki actor Ichikawa Ennosuke IV was rushed to the hospital Thursday after his manager found him collapsed along with his parents at their home in Tokyo, an investigative source said, adding that this is being considered a suicide attempt.
The actor gave unclear responses once he regained consciousness, the source said, adding that something found near him may be a suicide note.
His mother died at their home in Tokyo's Meguro Ward while his father, Ichikawa Danshiro, was confirmed dead after reaching the hospital.
Meijiza theater in Tokyo has said it has canceled Ennosuke's Thursday performance, adding that nothing has been decided yet regarding future performances.
