A man has reportedly told police he set his own home on fire in a fit of pique, causing a blaze that left four of his children dead and his wife and another child injured.
Father-of-eight Kenichiro Suemune, 40, a member of the Maritime Self-Defense Force, said he became enraged when his wife, 42, failed to see him off when he left for his duty station in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture, investigators said Tuesday.
Suemune was arrested Monday.
