U.S. authorities charged three people with terrorism-related crimes, including two New York women who allegedly discussed making bombs. A Texas man was charged separately with trying to train alongside Muslim militants.

A criminal complaint against Noelle Velentzas, 28, and Asia Siddiqui, 31, was unsealed Thursday in Brooklyn federal court, accusing the women of conspiring to prepare an explosive device to detonate in the U.S. Muhanad Mahmoud al Farekh was charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

"We remain firm in our resolve to hold accountable anyone who would seek to terrorize the American people, whether by traveling abroad to commit attacks overseas or by plotting here at home," U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch said in a statement.
