OSAKA (Kyodo) An advisory group is urging the "administrative unification" of the three airports in the Osaka area, which now are managed by separate entities, sources said Tuesday.

The group will put forward the administrative unification proposal for Kansai International Airport, Osaka International Airport (at Itami) and Kobe Airport at a Dec. 14 meeting of the consultative body it is advising, the sources said.

The body brings together regional leaders, including Osaka Gov. Toru Hashimoto, Hyogo Gov. Toshizo Ido and Kansai Economic Federation Chairman Hiroshi Shimotsuma.
