The Hatoyama administration and the ruling Democratic Party of Japan agreed Friday to convene a monthlong extraordinary Diet session on Oct. 26, a day after two Diet by-elections, administration and DPJ members said Friday.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirofumi Hirano and the DPJ's Diet affairs chief, Kenji Yamaoka, reached the agreement, Yamaoka said.
