The Liberal Democratic Party-led ruling coalition has received poor evaluations from a labor union, economists and others on how well it has fulfilled the policy proposals in its manifesto for the 2005 election, a panel led by academics and business circles said Sunday.

The LDP and its coalition partner New Komeito were given an average score of 46 out of a possible 100 for general policy achievement from nine groups, including a business lobby, think tanks and a labor union, that participated in an evaluation of policy implementation.

The economy has deteriorated since the 2005 Lower House election, with income disparities emerging as a key social problem.
