Seven Bank said Friday it will start installing about 300 automated teller machines in branches of Nomura Securities Co., the nation's top brokerage, in June.

This will be the first time the bank has set up ATMs outside the Seven & I Holdings Co. retail group.

The move will extend the reach of Seven Bank's ATM network to all 47 prefectures instead of 33 at present, the bank said.

Nomura Securities customers will be able to deposit and withdraw money from their Seven Bank accounts free of charge using machines installed at Nomura branches.

Customers will also be able to use Nomura ATMs if they have cards issued by financial institutions affiliated with Seven Bank, bank officials said.

Seven Bank has the largest ATM network of all Japanese private banking institutions, with about 12,000 machines. It is considering setting up more machines at branches of companies other than Nomura, Seven Bank officials added.
