Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc. and consumer electronics store chain Bic Camera Co. said Tuesday they have linked up for sales of goods related to TBS programs and promotion of TV programs.
The agreement came after Bic Camera purchased TBS shares through a private share placement in August 2005. Bic Camera now owns a 2 percent equity stake in TBS.
Under the linkup agreement, Bic Camera will set up a "TBS goods store" at its outlets, starting with a new outlet that will open in Kawasaki on Sept. 28. Videos promoting TBS TV programs will be played at Bic Camera outlets.
TBS and Bic Camera will also jointly develop consumer electronics for sales through TBS's TV shopping network and Bic Camera stores.
TBS's Internet site will feature a link to Bic Camera's site.
