Reiko Chiba Tuttle, the widow of Tuttle Publishing Co. founder Charles E. Tuttle, died Friday at a Tokyo hospital, according to literary agent Tuttle-Mori Agency Inc. She was 90.
Her husband was a pioneer in publishing foreign language books in Japan and was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, in 1983 for his contributions to Japanese society.
The funeral will be held in Rutland, Vt., with a memorial to be held in Tokyo on a date still to be determined.
