TSU, Mie Pref. (Kyodo) A 39-year-old woman was arrested Friday in Toin, Mie Prefecture, on suspicion of killing her 1-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son, police said.
The suspect, Sumako Kanemitsu, admitted strangling her son, Keisuke, the previous night and daughter, Risa, the following morning at their home, saying she had anxieties about child-rearing, police said.
The father, Hiroshi, 46, reported the killings to police, saying he found them dead at home at around 6:40 a.m., police officials said.
