A girl in the sixth grade was found hanging in a classroom at her elementary school in Takikawa, Hokkaido, in a suspected suicide attempt, police said Saturday.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was unconscious and listed in critical condition, police said.
Another student discovered the girl at around 7:45 a.m. Friday and reported to teachers.
