Police served a fresh arrest warrant Friday on an American civilian employee of the U.S. military on suspicion of raping a woman and stealing money in Okinawa in 1998.

Dag Thompson, 34, allegedly crept into the house of the woman while she slept, raped her and stole a wallet containing about 8,000 yen on June 13, 1998.

Thompson has denied the allegations, police said.

They said that DNA in the bodily fluids of the woman, described as in her 20s, at the crime scene matched that of Thompson, who works at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa.

He was initially arrested on Oct. 15 on suspicion of raping another woman in her 20s, also in Okinawa, on Aug. 22.
