A new subway connection will open Sunday in central Yokohama, providing a link with Tokyo that people here hope will bring more business to the area.
The 4.1-km-Minato Mirai Line, built by a semigovernmental firm, will connect Yokohama Station and Motomachi-China Town Station.
As the line will be connected to the Tokyu Toyoko Line, it will also link Tokyo's Shibuya Station and Yokohama's Chinatown in only 35 minutes.
