Fuji Television Network Inc. said Thursday its group net profit in the April-June period came to 9.02 billion yen, or 51.51 percent of its net profit projection of 17.5 billion yen for the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2004.

The broadcaster attributed its buoyant profitability partly to robust revenues associated with the broadcasting rights for its TV programs.

In its consolidated earnings report for the first three months of the 2003 fiscal year, Fuji TV said its group pretax profit came to 16.34 billion yen, equal to 46 percent of its full-year forecast of 35.5 billion yen.

Operating revenues in the three-month period came to 110.09 billion yen, equivalent to 25.34 percent of its full-year projection of 434.5 billion yen, the Tokyo-based broadcaster said.

Net profit per share amounted to 8,678.47 yen for the April-June period, equal to 52.56 percent of its full-year projection.
